I just opened it up in efilive, but the OS number is a giveaway that it's a custom HPT OS.
Fixing the hole with go a long way in fixing the idle hang. The ecu can't compensate for that extra air getting in during transient throttle openings. the hole is really only of use when at idle, but it fcks with air flow calc everywhere.
I have a workshop in Rockingham with dyno's etc & tune ls vehicles when im on RNR. I could upgrade the ecu os to a much better 2010 based OS, which has improved idle control logic/parameters too.

Sounds like the previous owner or tuner has followed Hymeys guide on EFI Live forum.
Is the cam a VCM710 or VCM7 im running my LS2 with a VCM710. Ill have a look at your tune not only does follower decay hold on to it but too much air also in Min Idle Air Flow table can cause it and also the max idle area parameters can make it hang aswell.
Also Tre-Cool any idea on what newer O/S’s are compatible with mine the O/S is 12612381 Like you said the newer O/S’s have a lot better idle control.

The cam was a VCM7 which is discontinued so I went in a different direction and fitted a Crow Cam 871064.ScottyhsvR98 wrote: Wed Jul 08, 2026 5:56 pm Sounds like the previous owner or tuner has followed Hymeys guide on EFI Live forum.

Pretty much any os can be made compatible. Just a matter of getting a full os flash in, update etc, change TB or match the etc cals in ecu tune to keep original TB. Then adjusting the relevant CAN TX/RX signal data.ScottyhsvR98 wrote: Wed Jul 08, 2026 5:56 pm Sounds like the previous owner or tuner has followed Hymeys guide on EFI Live forum.

Auto will require a little more adjusting then a manual, but process is the same.

just gonna predict the next question is going to be asking for more details. Please start a new thread if that is the case, and keep this one on topic for power pcm flasher.
