Yeah that's been going on for a while. Those whole chargers need a resign. In the UK there are chargers that stay up the top of light poles and you use and app then they lower down when you use them. Or there are plugin ones where you bring the cable and its like a socket on the light pole. A bit of a search also shows popup ones. Considering copper theft was already a wide problem, I am not sure why EV charger companies didn't expect this and design for it.
Just one idea of many they could do, or variations of with cables retracting back inside the boxes or ground. https://youtu.be/UjiR-Wz_Z8s?t=494
Personally I still think unless your doing long distance and need a public charger while interstate and need to charge your far better of financially charging at home.

I would think the dropdown they would still be able to cut a reasonable amount of cable. I have also read where they are cutting the cables from EV's. They have just finished installing another 11 charge stations close by and their all out of sight to the shopping public. Probably the next to go.

Yeah you could cut it, but you still need an account and an app and a credit card just to drop one. It makes it harder than just rocking up and cutting your way through 10 of them. Maybe enough to discourage the typical culprits.

Yep, with bugger all wealth to go around at the bottom and the wealth gap growing each day. Shit like this will only get worse.
