i dont need any encouragement, i have plenty of that, time is what is my problem, when i started enhanced to where i am now i have a family and kids and fulltime overloaded job, so quite different now lol I can't speak for others on here but i suspect alot of the same.
I have thought about flash pcm's before but ended up with the fact there is no easy way a end user could install a nvram by themselves like a memcal based pcm, that and a few other reasons turned my time off this and kept doing things for the memcal based pcm's instead.
VT/VX/VY L67 and VT N/A all use the same pcm and near the same engine loom it's not hard to swap an engine loom and pcm over if you wish to have the code and tune ability. I had thought about doing a writeup on converting a VX/VY Flash to VX/VY Memcal PCM using a VT V6 Loom & PCM.

Re: Flash PCM's Made realtime
I would be keen on the ability of real time also for the flash PCMs but i can see there is not the demand on here when compared to the memcal versions.
But in saying that would the cost be to send a PCM away to one of the guys on here to have a socket installed so a navram could be used?
Would be good to know the difference in cost over buying a memcal PCM and loom then having it paired to the BCM for those who want to keep VATS on.

Re: Flash PCM's Made realtime
Sorry The1 I wasn't saying you needed to do anything at all for realtime.
With the mod for the ostrich there is no need for NVram or realtime enhanced mod it just worked in realtime changes with tunerpro & the ostrich.
So yeah you would need to socket PCM & then get a 32PLCC adapter & use the ostrich with the G6 adapter.

Re: Flash PCM's Made realtime
not taken personally but being the only one working on code for it.
it would be far more expensive for everyone to buy a ostrich and mod the pcm than to swap in a VT N/A PCM and Engine loom. Neither are ideal but no other way to really implement realtime.

Re: Flash PCM's Made realtime
So now moates is back and selling again this might be viable. Noticed they sell a booster that goes between the ribbon cable and rest of hardware would that be the missing link to make this work reliably?

The electrical connection, see here and the rest of this other thread, keep your wires short and see if you can get the pcm to boot running from the ostrich. viewtopic.php?p=123802#p123802

Re: Flash PCM's Made realtime
I looked at the code as to how HPtuners does live tuning in the P01/P59 PCM's. they basically mirror whatever tables you select in their VCMeditor software into the RAM of the ECU. from there their patched code reads these tables that are in RAM. when you go into VCMscanner a new button appears at the top because when their scanner polls the ECU for what PID's are available they added an extra PID that tells VCMscanner that the software is patched with their live tuning. from there when you click their little button it loads a window that shows what tables are mirrored into RAM and allows you to manipulate them in real time. you make the changes you want, than you copy/paste those tables into your actual BIN in VCMeditor, save it and than reflash that BIN to your ECU. like i said, i've seen their code, its rather complex and i dont have a full understanding of it but i know enough to know how it flows/works. also it does work good enough to cover the basics for setting up an engine that has non standard hardware on it like an aftermarket cam, intake, throttle body etc.

Re: Flash PCM's Made realtime
Ive got VX-VY V6 running a onerom Emulator working really seamless now so damned quick to drop a change i used the j4 header and 4 short wires off u11 header to make up what was missing, have been running around and tuning my Turbo Vy with it.
Have since got a few interposer boards made solder in a set of pins in j4 to mount will get the interposer board version running and report back.
Version with wires is a little fragile caught my leg on usb lead and pulled wire out that uspet things a bit.
Also have a VT Version ready for action

Nice one, that is a good way to do it.

The circuit PCB Just sits over the old U11 header.
Vt is nice conversion
