Gen 4 VVE companion

Post by Rapidfire »

Still in Development stage as name says Gen 4, will support 1Bar 2Bar 3Bar Custom OS

This would need Tuner Pro RT with plugin and ADX support

With new code written for Gen 4 OS, Times here. Sure there`s Hp tuners But why not build your own

Looking great,

can you reveal the math from coefficients to VVE tables, always have wondered how it is calculated.

I know for that clue for a long time, but never managed to find it for a download.

It will be nice to trace exact logic based on pcm code flow. For sure some other tables are involved, and for sure GM have a way to derive these from logs, or some form of emulator.

Going on ancient & well worn memory, IIRC 🤔, there is a patent doc with the method. (Also a virtual torque patent 🤔). If I can turn up some 20 year old info, will post. I can't recall if the Bluecat XL sheet had the math exposed.

Some light patent reading 😊.

Here`s where we are at with Emulator.

- Unicorn — official source repository
- Installed engine: Unicorn 2.1.4
- Our E38-specific adapter and hardware models are custom additions; this is still a partial emulator.
It’s Unicorn—version 2.1.4—from its official repo. We didn’t download a finished E38 emulator; we’re building the E38 pieces ourselves.

I use Logs from hp tuner scanner, u need specific PIDs for emu to work, Log as much driving so has something to emulate.

All this works with Ghidra. Unicorn is the separate emulation engine we’re running offline. :typist:

Try Bluecat VVE, There is another but ive forgotten where i put it. I could do VVE in there app and it would do calc coefficients and you would copy this back into tuning software back in day.

this is from an old log
Verification so far:
304 isolated polynomial-evaluator cases and 164 zone-selection cases passed against execution of the actual firmware instructions. These are bounded software checks, not complete ECU or vehicle validation.
