vt auto l67 tune with A 2 A cooler
Hi Guys, after a bit of advise, i'm trying to tune a l67 with a air to air cooler and 14psi pulley I have kalmaker workshop and was going to use workshop w55 (2bar mafless) but are getting dick around with getting a pcmid code ( code required for vehicle to run) woundering what other people have used to tune this sort of combo as i've been trying to get the kalmaker tune to work but they keep sending the wrong codes etc its been 6 weeks for i need to get this sorted one way or another. - thanks in advance

can't help you much with kalmaker, but you might be worth posting here:

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

unfortunatley, kalmaker is your only option at present going MAP on your auto engine with boost, you could give maf a stab if youve got nowhere else to go, and use a stock bin, but you will prob hit the 1000mgc limit of the stock bins very easily over 12 psi...
if it was manual, or T700 non electornic auto you could go $12p and 808 but then you will lose some of your VT dash features.

ive used the ddrh and a5k on a few of these have tune to 18psi (with a whipple blower)no problems if you get stuck for air flow meter use an lsi one and adjust your injector scaling to suit works a treat pm me if you want a base file.Im doing one right now 170rwkw with 10psi air to air and bigger rockers
Cheers shane

shane1 - so you are saying you use stock bins with stock MAF tables, and just adjust injector rate to compensate for the larger maf? do you max out the MGC when the boost gets right up there? I was under the impression that mgc > 1000 on a stock bin would lean out, which is why I moved to a kalmaker bin. I spose the mgc would still be low if you are using stock maf tables with a ls1 maf, the extra fuel is added via injector rate.

It actually takes a fair bit to max the std afm . The tables stop at 750mcyl i think but genally speaking your only full throttle there anyway and if you get your tables right you should be able to get your commanded fuel.If you use the bigger afm, you just push the injector tables around and you can get it pretty darn close, but id try the std maf first

yeah you can just max the maf out and keep tuning wot till you get the correct spark and fueling for whatever max psi you are running but at any boost under that you run a little rich and not enough spark people have been doing it for years but it is a fudgey way of doing it
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem

Re: vt auto l67 tune with A 2 A cooler
weve maxxed even the 74mm maf and 99 % duty cycle on injectors with a cam and 16 psi pulley LOL, maxing the maf wasnt really my question, just that I was under the impression a stock bin wouldnt be able to handle the fuel requirements of high boost if the MAF tables were altered correctly to give the real MGC figure, as a stock bins MGC wont go higher than 1000, after which point it stops commanding any more fuel than what is required at 1000mgc resulting in engine going lean. to me it sounds like your setup with stock bins reads airflow figures lower than the real figure and commands (delcowizzid would say fudges) more fuel via a bigger injector rate.
dont get me wrong tho, im not saying its dodgy, im sure if spark were adjusted right, that method would result in a nice drivable car with safe fuelling, just one way of doing it that I hadnt thought of.
