bummer not to easy then i just presumed it would be up the aldl stream connecting the BCM PCM etc wonder what sort of comms protocol it isyoda69 wrote:Last time I looked at the wiring diagram, I think it uses Pin 1 on the ALDL connector (Also used for BCM, Instruments and ABS), EfiLive doesn't use this pin as the engine ECU uses a different (PIN 9 I think on a VT anyway). The Module for SRS this that stores the code is the one under the centre console, it is known as an SDM module in the Holden manuals.

Re: 98 vt srs light
but if you get bcm commands through the aldl port would that not mean that you could send the right command through the aldl port and the bcm would pick it up rather than the pcm ?
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: 98 vt srs light
The first byte of the standard ALDL is the device ID. You need to be able to sniff the line and find what the ECU and BCM have as device ID's. Tipping the ECU will be $F4.
Perhaps a mode 10 with the correct device ID might do the trick.

When sniffing the data, the device ID of the VR BCM is $BD and the VS BCM is $F1.

Try sending this ALDL packet down the bus:
F2 56 0A AE
AFAIK should work for at least VS and VT
