if u open the throttle blade to bring the idle steps down does it cause problems with the tps sensor not reading 0% at idle?

Initially it might but the PCM re-learns what the TPS voltage is when the throttle is closed.

i guess it depends on the motor too ... for example i have a 70mm throttle body on my 3.3ltr .... so it doesn't need to move much to increase the idle rpm, however if i had the 60mm v6 throttle body on it i'd have to screw it in alot more to achieve the same idle.

Hey All,

This did exactly that, I tried just opening T/b till it eased the problem(didn't completely fix it) but then once I did this overtime it started screwing with trans shift points & more with it learning a bad throttle position!

So yeah definitely need to fix the problem on later model cars & don't just try cutting corners!
