Re: Dual Rom's on ECU
outside the box thinking and tinkering is how technology progresses, nothing wrong with that!
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

What does "Bin stacking and switching an A line" mean? How do you do this?festy wrote:Just wondering what it is that you're doing that requires using two seperate eeproms?
Bin stacking and switching an A line would be a lot simpler, so assume you must have a reason not to do it that way...
I am trying to work out how to use an input to switch between gas and petrol, to turn the injectors and fuel pump off.
Could this be the answer?

Re: Dual Rom's on ECU
Bin stacking is using a single memory chip and having two bins loaded. The memory chip needs to be at least double the factory size for this. "Switching an A line" is switching an address line. If you have a memory chip that is double the size of a stock chip switching the highest address line low and high will access different parts of memory.
In this picture, take the middle column called VR man. If you have a 64k byte chip (or 512k bits) loaded with two 32k byte bins and switch the upper address line you will access the grey section (address 0-7FFF) and white section (address 8000-FFFF) depending on a high or low logic level of the address line.
