Speed Corrector kit

Post by darky82 »

Hi all, i have a vs statesman 5.0L auto and i am about to install a speed corrector kit.
I have had a read of a few posts and i am still unsure of what wire i am ment to use, from what i have seen i should be using the Purple with white trace, but i also see that it splits under the dash some where?

i guess it depends, if you want the speedo and the pcm to get the same info you'll need to put it between the gearbox and pcm, if your only trying to fix the dash then the pcm to dash wire is the go

Ok thanks holden 202, if the corrector kit was installed on the gearbox side this would change shift points right? im running 4.9s so its the reason im doing the kit, ive had the pcm remapped and shift points in pwr mode tricked up a bit by a good tuner but hes getting sick of Q's and A's  lol....

So the purple with white trace is the spedo one :?:

Ok finaly got around to this thing and still having a drama. I cut the v/w wire about 6in from the ecu to make sure i had the right wire, started the car and i ran like a pig and speedo still worked in my driveway, so i jioned it back up all was good, so i followed it up behind the glove box to the plug where it goes into to on the other side, i cut one and installed the speed corrector tested the signal and got flashing red, thought i was on track untill my car started beeping and during the test while driving the car, the speedo still worked. the kit says the speedo should not work, must be wrong one? so i tried the other v/w. no beep this time but it will not adjust and speedo still works while testing signal any idea what im doing wrong, everything i look at is for a manual?

according to the diagram i have your C12 wire from the pcm should be v/w and goes to the dash .....
pins B5, B6 are the two wires for the VSS.

from here: http://www.oldholdens.com/temp/carstuff ... SV8A-2.GIF

this assumes its not series 3 though.

ok thats the wire im using that branches off, the wire i cut stopped the speedo before i installed the corrector so i think i have the right wire, how do you install the corrector off the vss hi-low wires to give the PCM the right speed reading to stop my gears being cut short.

Ok i was using the wrong wire after all dont know how  but c12 done the trick.

To get my PCM reading right which VSS wire do i use the HI or LOW, would it be the HI-BLU\W?
