Re: Turning fault codes off???
no need to turn them off
just turn the auto pcm into a manual pcm SEE HERE---> https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopi ... 7&start=40
you will still need a a chip burnt with the manual stuff
im sure The1 can help with that or im more then happy to help with modding a pcm and burning a chip PM me if you want to know more

im guessing if it's a T5 then yes otherwise getrag would be no need, yeh that's correct just a matter of changing the flag or just use a manual tune.

Re: Turning fault codes off???
Thanks for the replys. Sorry I should have given sone more info.
I have recently swapped the v6ecotec engine and t5 g/box for a
bt1 which has had a t5 attatched but still using the auto computer and engine loom.
The dash is an L3 to suit the v6.
My problems after the conversion are
The engine light is on - I think this is due to the auto not being there
The tacho is not reading correctly - can the dash my modified to suit the v8
The temp gauge is not rising properly I need to tap the dash to get it to read. - faulty?
But on a plus the speedo seems to be working correctly using a gps to check speed.
I'm happy to pay someone to burn a chip? Or even talk me through the process needed to unflag/ turn off the auto functions. Im happy to swap components on the board if need be to.

Re: Turning fault codes off???
The tacho can be re-ranged by changing out some resistors.
The speedo may be indicating ok on the dash but the PCM may not have an indication of speed as it is used to an inductive pulse instead of the square wave you now have. There are modification instructions on this site to allow a PCM to be modified to accept the manual transmission speed input.
Transmission error codes can be disabled in the tune.

Re: Turning fault codes off???
Thanks, can anyone steer me in the right direction to correct the tacho.
Also what happens if the PCM doesn't see the correct speed?
I think it might be easier if i pay someone to fix my pcm problem even though I'd love to understand the ins and outs of the PCM.
Thanks again for the help

Re: Turning fault codes off???
Well, 10 years ago when I converted my VR v6 to V8 I got the tacho section of cluster from GM & pretty sure around $70 & swapped myself but don't know how to resistor yours? but if me I'd price both & get cheaper version either separate section from GM or complete cluster for V8 from eBay or Wrecker!
With the rest of it, as far as the PCM seeing wrong speed, if it isn't stalling or fluctuating idle then I'd live with it!
Anyways just my thoughts.....
