Some real good stuff happening here but holy crap i thought i took some risks sometimes - fuel container on battery - exposed wires and injectors firing directly at the whole rig - HOLY SINGED EYEBROWS BATMAN - of course its all stacked up like this to make taking photos easier
Build it, Race it, Break/Bend it ; Repeat.

Well a bit of an update with this 1....

I was lucky enough for The1 to offer me his injector driver(way too cheap at his cost) & also him being the perfectionist spent more time on it tidying it up!
It has a 5 sec timer, 48 sec timer & a hold(extra setting he made) & tested a few set’s so far & found out if the VT-VY late type injectors are sitting around for a few years(even if brand new) will seize up & need some persuasion to get moving again!
But in all testing very good & pretty precise for only 5 sec testing(48 will be more of a test when I get better tubes).

Had some old VT injectors that came out of a car running perfect & found 2 out by around 10% & 1 by 3% so I’ll use these as test mule’s.
First test revering them in the VT fuel rail which is possible(PERFECT) & taking the filter out & just running fuel through it for a fair while & then putting new filter basket in, makes NO DIFFERENCE!

I will have to try a few of the fluids recommended here for testing!

With the injector tester of The1’s it’s perfect but only enough power for a single injector at a time, which I’d much prefer to drive all at once so I know there all pulsing exactly the same but beggers can’t be choosers!

Great work as always The1 & thank you!

how about this home DIY injector clean method :P I was thinking of trying it for shits and giggles.

LMAO, now that makes my set-up look silly so simple & prolly work fine too!

If you used an 808 as the inj driver, a pulse generator on the spark ref pins sets rpm and you should be able to come up with suitable maps to produce the desired injector pulse scenarios. You'd also then have logging, so you could verify results in a spreadsheet etc, and would drive multiple injectors.

Hey Festy, yeah I do have the jimstim & an 808 I use for testing, but don't know how/what to use as pulse generator or if that's even need if I have the jim stim I'm not an electrical engineer like most/some around here!

On the other note, the carby cleaner & the end of a silicone tube applier with appropriate hose/joiners actually works perfect! Just tested & the worste injector which was 5ml off(pretty bad when normal is 15ml) came up to a PERFECT 15ml(like other's) with 48 seconds of back flush with carby cleaner without the basket in & put basket back in & couple of 5 sec flushes that way & BINGO!

How does everyone reckon injectors could handle Naptha & Hydrotreated Light(64742-89-8) which is basically Brake cleaner?

You shouldn't need the jimstim - with an appropriately tweaked cal you should be able to get by with just a fake spark reference, and maybe a couple of sensors plugged into the loom (map, MAT, and tps would probably help too).
You don't need to simulate a full running engine, you could probably just use the cranking parameters to drive the injectors at predefined duty cycles?
As for the pulse generator, I knocked up a quick and dirty one using a pic the other day that supplied a fixed rpm pulse to test my conversion - that's what made me think of this. I could make a variable rpm version for you if you went down this path.
You could also use your PC's parallel port to supply the spark ref, just google "pc pulse generator".

Re: cleaning injectors, I heard that a good way is to submerge them in an ultrasonic bath while they're operating.
Small ultrasonic cleaners are about $40 on ebay, fill with water and stick a jar full of carb cleaner in the water bath, and put your injector in the jar?
Don't fill the whole cleaner with carby cleaner, too much would atomize during a cleaning cycle and you could blow yourself up :wtf:

Ive got a small engine sim I use to simulate various crank trigger setups to develop ignition stuff, can post more info if something like that would be useful to anyone? It just uses an arduino I had lying around, 4 line LCD for trigger selection and RPM (0-8k RPM) using a pot. It has 4 outputs but one mode is just using a single output for 4/6/8 cyl dizzy so would work for this.
