Holden VR v6 3800 Tuning Help needed Who can do it?

Hi all

I live Boonah near Ipswich Qld

I have had a project going for a few year now and I just in the finishing stage now. "TUNING"

I have a 1992 Holden Rodeo that i put a auto v6 Vr commodore motor in and a Vl turbo Diff. I had to put a Chiptorque chip in to start it and it running good for a few years but when I put 100 shot of nos the gearbox let go and after 3 auto's I then pulled it off the road and did a fare few mods And now I need a new chip to run all the new mods. I have been trying to get pro-tune off ebay to do one but he will not retrune my message's after telling me to wait 6 weeks and then he can do it. Its now been 7 weeks. Is there same one on here how can help me or point me to same one who can ?.

I have also been told to just buy this DFAS Performance Chip Holden Commodore VS VT 3.8L 5.0L

Hear is my new Mods to the rodeo. It was auto but I just changed it to t5 Manual(its not run right now been told i have to get auto sitting turned off).Also I have just put a sc14 supercharger on a 12psi pulley and a 480x260x75 core size tube and fin intercooler. I have moved the throttle body in front of the supercharger and used a 70mm throttle body. I also used a 2 bar map sensor's, sard fuel reg, 42.5lb bosh injectors off the std supercharger engine.It also has a HKS airfilter and extractors 2 1/2 in exhaust.
It also has a chip in the plug bit that is a Chiptorque chip to by pass the std security system on the vr commodore.

So can you make the Performance 2 bar Chip to run all my mods or point to sameone how can?.

if that was mine i'd be removing the VR loom and computer and run it on a VN/VP loom and 808 computer. This will remove the issues your having with the manual tranny and then it will also allow you to use all the resources on this forum to tune it with $12P code which works alot better with boosted applications.

I do relay wont to remove the VR loom and computer. I just spend 6hours making it neat.
I dont know mush about the vr or vn computer.


Is the map sensor a voltage out put or frequency?

Nice truck.
If it was mine, repin to suit a mod'd 808 and run $12P with an NVRAM board.
Once you've got the knack of unpinning, and have sorted out the colours and new locations, the job itself doesn't take long.

I thinking you are meaning a 808 cumputer and the $12P is a progrem maybe ???
What car is the 808 out of???

An 808 is short for the ECU 1227808, this was used in Camira's, VN and VP commodores, these are normally about $30-50 at the wreckers.
The mod is add high speed (8192 baud rate) data logging and make the ECU the same as the later model VR/VS V8 Manual ECU's whch are rather rare and expensive.
Can update using one of these options, then end result is the same.

$12P is mod'd code by VL400 that is fully documented and supported on this site. Read below for further info.

Only other thing you require is an NVRAM and you're ready for realtime tuning

Depending on your ECU upgrade choice, you may also require an ALDL logging interface.

Basically get the wiring diagram for your current ecu and one for an 808 and map out where things have to be moved. You should be able to find the wiring diagrams on this site.

Given a lot of people have used $12P on various applications you will get plenty of support in setting up.
