Noob question but it's an issue I don't have my head around yet.
How do I ensure a check sum is correct?
What does it relate to? ECU/ PCM specific, software specific etc etc?
I was trying to help a mate who has put his 5L VS ute with 5 speed Getrag manual conversion back to stock to sell it and keep getting a C.E.L. that is from DTC 51, promid- memcal error
The car runs a 16176424 PCM and I wrote a DRRR bin to it using $A6

Re: check sum, how to calulate?
Will need to use a VS series 1 or 2 bin for a 16176424 PCM, DRRR is a 128k series 3 bin for the VT style PCM. However, the 16176424 is an auto PCM so a stock bin will always throw a CEL with a manual trans. Will need some changes made to mask the error codes, the VSS on a getrag is a reluctor so will work fine with the auto PCM.krusty wrote:The car runs a 16176424 PCM and I wrote a DRRR bin to it using $A6
