Implemented this on a 4 cylinder isuzu g200w engine, in an isuzu bellett. Hopefully the owner (who is lurking the forums (Hi Gav!) posts up a thread about the car). But for the record, here is the crank trigger.
Note that the notches in the balancer were proven not large enough and timing was erratic. The holes were deepened, and now all is well, but I dont have photo of the final product. So for the record - make the notches deeper than pictured and it should be fine, or start small and if the rpm signal is not solid (cuts in and out in the TP5 logs) then make them deeper.
Also, used the same method as last time to mark it out. Seems easy enough and works.
NB. Not pictured but remember to drill a counter hole opposite the extra notch in from the edge of the wheel so it wont trigger but will keep things reasonably well balanced. Or better yet, get it professionally balanced when your done.

Once done, if hand made like this, its likely your some degrees out. So, clear "Map A: set=RPM derivative spark control option" to stop the ecu from using spark timing to controll idle speed, then get it idling, observe the spark timing the ecu thinks its using, and use a timing light to check what is actually happening. Realtime edit "EST params - Spark reference angle" in small steps untill the commanded spark and the acutal spark (on the timing light) agree. Turn "Map A: set=RPM derivative spark control option" back on, and that is now the correct ref angle for your home made timing wheel.
If you need long spark leads to suit, sometimes they come individually, but if you cant find them, check for a pack of L67 S/C Ecotec leads. Because of the S/C they have the coil packs mounted further away, so the leads are longer. We used 4 from a set of 6 on this car.
Nice work got some newbe questions .
Can I run a vn coll pack on a 4 cyl motor, also I have a Ford Falcon ABS sensor that will fit my crank can I use it or does it need to be a GM one .
Thanks for any help
Ps I've used the search too
Pps can I use a coll pack from another car ie 1989-1994-Subaru-Legacy-Ignition-Coil-Pack-/290653283055?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item43ac4922ef

You can run the commodore coils, but you need to put this module: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/380289753336 under them as there is specific logic and wiring too it, and im pretty sure any abs reluctor sensor would work, including the ford one.
The 6 pin connectors are hard to get, but not impossible, as is the 2 pin one. If anyone has any links, please add them to the the thread. We had a couple of the right 6 pin ones, but connected straight to the 2 power pins, sealed it with epoxy, and installed another connector for removal puposes on the line. The 3 pin one can be found on the ecotech knock sensor on the front of the engine.
