no i didnt strip anything out of the engine loom JUST THE cabin loom , the wires that i took out where dash related but i did remove a few from tranny plug but think i have the main ones reconnected that as it cranks when tranny in park . ill chase up the supply to the DFI and see why there is no spark as suggested ..

thanks David

ah sorry, I mis understood you, i just cant think of any wires off the top of my head in the cabin loom that would cause it to lose spark except for that power wire to the dfi module.

no problems Jayme according to the diagrams its a purple wire 439 which i found was not connected but i couldnt get any joy confirming it was the wire using my multi meter contanunity test ,, ??

i think its time to pay an auto elect to look at as i have wasted way too much time on it ..

i do have a spare engine loom and was thinking of running as a stand alone connection but i need to know which wire i connect to the engine harness plugs to power the motor ,,

nooooooo dont give up!!!
according to the diagram ive got, there is a pink wire at one end of the DFI module connector plug, wherever it runs to in the body loom, it needs +12v ign switched to it, id say thats the one that was disconnected.

pull the plug out of the dfi module under the coils, find the pink wire on one end, and jam your ohms meter in it. keep testing wires to see where it goes.

ok had a quick look and several gave me 0 resistance ?

but i did also trace some of the wires back on the 8 pin engine plug to find that 4 of them are the wires i had cut and are not connected to anything atm ,,
when connecting the loom as a stand alone what wires would you connect to power ,. injector red wire is one and the 2 orange powers to ecu as well as a6 or 6 pwr to ecu , efi and fuel pump triggers
ill have to investigate them and the drawing more tomorrow as i promised the missus id take her to the movies tonight ,,

thank again ,,

thats the one im looking at, except in a different diagram the wire on the end of the dfi plug is red not pink and goes straight to the same red wire that powers the inejctors.... perhaps VN series 1 and 2 are wired differently in that area?

does it link up to the power going to the injectors? id hazard a guess not, as you said the inejctors have power?
if it is pink like the first diagram says, and it links up to the aldl connector as well, perhaps it runs into the interior loom plug near the ecu?

series 1 and 2 vn's are different one feeds power to injectors only and dfi power comes via the big firewall bug and into the car later ones use dfi and injectors on the same wire.check for power at dfi plug if none i just link a wire off the injector feed and run it to the dfi
