hey guys. quick question, a mate has a vp engine and box running in a vs commy but no speedo. i know the ecotec sends the signal into the pcm and then on to the dash. so basically i need to know what the pcm modifies to work the vs dash. if the vp auto speed sensor out put is the same as the vs 4l60e then i assume i can just wire the output straight to the dash. wishfull thinking obviously the speed sensor signal goes through the pcm for a reason ie modifying the voltage in someway. most of the wiring diagrams around are hard to read in detail due to low res.
thanks.

The vp gearbox sensor sends the correct signal straight up to go to the vs dash (square wave). Beware some vp wiring jobs put the vp divide by 5 circuit in the speedo wire somewhere. All you need to do is wire the signal from the sensor directly to the vs dash speedo wire. The ecotec uses a different gbox sensor which has a sinewave output. The pcm needs to convert it to square wave then send to the dash.
