Re: economy tuning
what engine and computer are we talking about here ?
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: economy tuning
You can have both economy and power in the one tune, I generally find around 15.4:1 AFR for light throttle and cruise areas gives the best economy - but AFR tuning for economy is something that you can easily play with. For spark your looking for the minimum spark to get the most torque.
Re: economy tuning
What would be the best threshhold to have pe come in then? I always seem to be in it lol...maybe my foot is the problem here haha

Re: economy tuning
easiest way is tune timing and fuel for the lowest tps reading at steady cruise this will give the best economy .if you go too lean you will loose torque if you can feel lean cruise engauge its too lean
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem
Re: economy tuning
More power can be more efficient you just need to control your throttle usage. For lean cruise as all have said above 15.4:1 provides the best flame/burn temps and complete burn. You can kick it in a bit earlier to, lower cutin time to 30 seconds or so and coolant temp down. If you get real keen you can start playing with things like canister purge duty cycle depends how much tweaking you want to do lol.
Re: economy tuning
my lean cruise is set to 15.3ish...its just a few areas on light/med accel it dips into PE. i added an extra 10% to tps threshold and added extra to mgc threshold just so it doesnt kick in so early.
Re: economy tuning
what's your pe cutin 50% tps?
