I'm just on my way back to melbourne Aust.
Had a lovely 2 weeks(almost) in NZ started at aukland went to red beach 2 nights then 2 nights at kerikeri then 4 lovely nights at paihai, followed by 3 smelly nights at rotorua to finish back at aukland!
Invested 5k into the economy & travelled around 4,000 kms in a nice little Toyota sprinter se vintage, lol wasn't too bad but cruise control would have been nice! Best full tank got was 658kms out of 43.88 litres & 91 octane was around 2.10 per litre!
I will follow up later with activities if anyone interested?
Cheers VX L67 Getrag

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Not sure whether it's true or not but someone when I got back over here said they don't pay for rego & add that cost into there fuel?
Re: Thanks to all the NZ forum members
$2.189 / L for 95 octane fuel, $287.75 / year rego (mostly ACC, there's a lot of this in the fuel price too). Plus the twice yearly warrant of fitness checks...
Once you get out of town fuel goes up too, paid $2.439 / L for it the other week.
Rego drops drastically once the vehicle is over 40 years old though, hanging out for that in 2016
