Re: My Delcoed Rides
well i emailed king springs to find out the standard eye brow height of the gemini, according to them its factory spec is
front: 365mm
rear: 345mm
so their lowered coils are
front: 330mm
rear: 320mm
so i measured my car and it is
front: 280mm
rear: 260mm
so im guessing i either have something like super lows in the front and something that sat right in the rear after cutting..... either way im thinking i'll go up to the low settings, that should 1. give me more ground clearance to stop it hitting on the trailer and 2. move the tailshaft a good few inchs away from the floor and resolve that issue aswell as stiffen the rear a bit .... so i will most likely go that route and see how it goes.

Re: My Delcoed Rides
well here is the end result ....
before
after
fronts slightly higher in comparison to the rear but im not too worried, plus if anything i think the LS1 and T350 will be heavier than the 202 and trimatic so it will drop a bit sooner or later.
either way theres about 3 inchs between the floor and tailshaft now so if it hits somethings majorly wrong!! (was about 1-1.5 inch before)

Re: My Delcoed Rides
yeah the problem is though that the tailshaft hits on the floor before the diff hits the bumpstops ....
guess the car just wasn't designed with a borg warner diff in mind

Re: My Delcoed Rides
Well car went pretty well, the suspension issue is mostly sorted, i think i need to look at some new shocks, cause the tailshaft still JUUUSST hits the floor for a bit, but nowhere near as bad as it was .... failing that im not sure
anyways here are two videos of my second eliminator. This bloke got the jump on me off the start (yeah i know i need a bigger converter)
but then i started to real him in at the end, it must have been by a bumper that he beat me, was a good race though!

Re: My Delcoed Rides
i was actually very surprised when i was in the B class for the eliminations, and was even more surprised to see some of the v8's in the D class ... guess they are all noise and too heavy cars ?
i was pretty happy with the time, and its almost exactly the 1/8ths i was running at WSID!

Re: My Delcoed Rides
don't wanna sound like an id10.t but,
Mazda rotary 4 electrode plugs in my day were the ducks nuts for high comps.
A real PITA to set. IE; magnifing glass and a set of modded feeler gauges.
also available in different lenghts as well to suit bridge porting etc...
Reading through this awesome post I look back at using resistor style plugs.
Had to do with "velocity" over "Q" factor.
Great but, we used to run wire wrapped HT leads to the plugs with a high res. plug lead to dampen RFI/EMI...
There was also available a chevy rotor button that had a resistor built into it as well.

Re: My Delcoed Rides
i have told a bloke at work about what happened with the missing etc when i was having the issues and he mentioned the wire leads too, i guess anything will work, but at the end of the day the issue was i had dodgy parts
i have never experienced wire leads so i dunno how they compare to the ones you see on most every car these days but i figure if the wire ones were a better option then they would be more available and more common ???

Re: My Delcoed Rides
finally got to WSID again with rain or anything hehehe ... scotty (brother) also brought down the nitrous fed stock vn v6 commodore, first run it in over the 1/4 for him ... got some vids!
my first pass, and best one of the night, also bettered my 13.04 personal best with a 12.85 @ 169km.

scotty's first pass - that was meant to be a nitrous purge run but ended up being the only really good run he had ... the logs seem to show rich as a dog, and the nitrous bottle pressure has dropped by 100lbs, so we think its nearly empty (we are new to nitrous!) - anyways, 13.45 ....

had a good night, 3 runs each and no one broke anything!
