VT Memcal -> VY Flash

Post by JJ21 »

Hi,

If i have a tuned VT memcal is it possible to extract the values from it and apply it to a VY flash PCM?
Would i need a VT ECU?
Can the memcals be locked or unreadable

wouldn't be an issue to copy the settings over, would have to read the bin with a burner or flashtool in car with vt, then put the settings in a VY bin and flash up using flashtool

Could be a pretty big task as tables are different sizes and there are a lot of subtle differences in how PE is done that need to also be captured. Have tried before putting swapping spark tables between VY and VT, car ran ok, but when logging was lot's of knock detected and spark pulled. Can definitely be done, just need to ensure everything regarding fuelling and spark is captured.

I'd be extremely worried about doing it, not only is everything addressed different the wiring between the 2 pcm's is different so that will be send info different surely, not only the engine components but the bcm & trans & who knows what else wouldn't it?

Yeah, you couldnt just copy the whole thing, you'd need to get the xdf for both, and manualy convert it from one to the other. but as yoda said, it'll be quite a job.

ok thanks, ive got a supercharger kit from a VT, which includes the tuned memcal, i havent got it yet though so im not sure what im dealing with. Im not expecting to just copy the whole thing over, just wanted some of the values, being the same basic engine.
to get the VY ecu tuned by the same mob that makes the kit its gonna cost $700

File is a Kalmaker W51 based of CNPR with just under 800 changes.
There is no XDF for this that I'm aware off, so would be a big job to convert to VY Flash.
With this many changes would expect changes to Low/Hi Octane spark map, knock settings, PE settings, and also shift points and firmness, RPM limits, Fan Temps, etc.
