How much power from stock ecotech with wild tune?
Purely a bench racing question, how much power could you get from a tune that is only for maximum power, not street driven, doesn't matter if the engine blows up?

Well, to get more power you need to get more air in to the cylinder, eg cam, turbo, better intake... and once you have the air going in, then with the power enrichment for optimal power, and the timing set for mean best torque, you'll get a tune that is good for street and power and it wont blow the engine up and will run efficiently
The fact you can have a tune that tortures the engine and does massive power is a bit of a myth. Power and efficiency are closely related. About the only damaging thing you could do is maybe remove the rev limiter, but even then the engine will past its point of peak torque and power and you'd be best of in the next gear.. At least thats how I understand it. Interested to hear from anypne who disagrees and why. Generally when you totrure the engine, you get less out of it, to boot.

i read that post as "how much can you get from a stock ecotec with only a tune"
if thats the case i reckon fuck all compared to stock!

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

That's what was I meaning, a stocky with a tune. I read some posts on the forum about people with a "burnout tune" or similar. I think Delcowizzid said he had one which was good for thrashing, but not good on the street.Holden202 wrote:i read that post as "how much can you get from a stock ecotec with only a tune"

And Antus I do understand what you are saying, that is the normal way to power up.

more than likely the "burnout" type tunes are probably to hold it in gear and stuff like that
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!
