VR V6 Auto Injector Wiring

Post by VL400 »

Anyone know the logic behind the the bank injector wiring on a VR V6 auto?

It is shown as...
Pin C15 - cyl 2,3,4
Pin C16 - cyl 1,5,6
Firing order 1-6-5-4-3-2

On the V8 wiring diagram it shows...
Pin C15 - cyl 2,4,7,8
Pin C16 - cyl 1,3,5,6
Firing order 1-2-7-8-4-5-6-3

The V8 still uses batch fire so may not have any reason for the grouping, and it does not seem to follow the same logic as the V6 auto with it wired in relation to the firing order which makes sense.

Look at the grouping, v6 is in groups of 3 and 3 as per firing ordering.
2,3 & 4 and 1,5 & 6 which is 3 firing cylinders followed by the next 3.
Given that firing order only by convention starts at 1, if you off set the v8 by 1 to 27845631 you get 2 groups of 4 grouped as per the wiring 2478 and 1356. Batch fire may have been a consideration for the v8 but never implemented, but more than likely was copied from some chev wiring.
