Re: no altnator current
i don't understand how this wire is making your knock sensor work cause the knock sensor only has one wire going to it and thats it......
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: no altnator current
yeah Holden202 i disconnected them again and the knock sensor works .. im thinking that it doesnt kick in until the engine has reached a running temp ?Holden202 wrote:i don't understand how this wire is making your knock sensor work cause the knock sensor only has one wire going to it and thats it......
cos it didnt repond for a while then as engine got up to temp i started to get knock readings

Re: no altnator current
thats correct there is a minimum temp setting which below this it wont work, stops false knock from things like excessive clearance on a cold motor etc.

Re: no altnator current
From what I can see looking at several VN diagrams, should have the following:
Violet/White........Speed Sensor to Speedo
Black/White........Speed Sensor & Speedo Ground
Pink/Blue...........Speedo Sensor and TCC Power
Grey/Red...........TCC to ECU via pin in ALDL connector
Brown/Yellow......Speedo to ECU
Light Blue...........Overdrive switch on console (and Auto trans Temp switch so TCC can't lock up until warm)
Grey.................Park Neutral Switch
Brown/White.......ALDL Connector/Check Engine Light
Not Sure about Light Green and Yellow, Yellow could possiby be for fuel pump override from ALDL connector

Re: no altnator current
thanks yoda, ill get them a try
looking at the list theres a few i wont need
Violet/White........Speed Sensor to Speedo ----not needed have converter for cable speedo
Black/White........Speed Sensor & Speedo Ground---not needed
Pink/Blue...........Speedo Sensor and TCC Power ---needed
Grey/Red...........TCC to ECU via pin in ALDL connector--needed pin 7 i think i holden202 recomended
Brown/Yellow......Speedo to ECU--think will be needed for TCC lockup so ECU now how fast we are going ?
Light Blue...........Overdrive switch on console (and Auto trans Temp switch so TCC can't lock up until warm) --- not needed no switch
Grey.................Park Neutral Switch--- need
Brown/White.......ALDL Connector/Check Engine Light-- unsure as no engine check light currently unless this is CEL ?

Re: no altnator current
hi guys,
just wanted to confirm that the TCC to ecu goes to pin A2 on the ecu is there a simple drawing that show what pin goes to where from the ecu
thanks David
