JE Camira 2 Bar map??

Post by chaser304 »

Im doing a tune for a mate of mine who has a toyota liteace van running a turbo, je camira ecu, modded je distrubtor and injectors. all the sensors are set up too.
The problem is as soon as it hits boost (1500rpm) it starts pining. Now i can pull the spark back (i havent done this yet because i was waiting for more eproms), that part isnt hard but i also want to do another tune for a 2 bar map sensor. but i have no clue where to start.
I also want to make it a bit richer via the tune.
Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers chaser

Prob be worth running this if your not already .. https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=356

Supports 2 bar and gives you control of fuel and spark under boost.

well firstly you need to get a 2 bar map sensor and with $12P and set it to 2 bar tune and start playing.

i'm still waiting on Jayme to write some info on boost tuning for the advance tuning guide :P

I have an ostrich 2.0 so i can do live tuning already. The problem is he lives an hour away and i dont really have the time to go and spend a day tuning it for him.
I can do some tunes at home and post them to him and see how they go, and he can just send the eproms back so i can erase and start again.
Do i use the VE as a function of map and rpm to make it richer or do i have to use a different table?
My mate also already has a 2 bar map sensor. Is there a flag i need to switch? or do i have to change the table settings so it reads higher?

He knows im learning how to do it. And i have already been playing with my own car.
i wont be doing major changes just little bit by little bit. Im not totally retarded. I do spend almost every day of the year working on cars. and i do understand how every thing works.
But to every one here im just a NOOB with no clue on whats going on. I didnt ask you to tune it for me. I asked questions so I can learn how to do it to benifit my self (when i finish my engine for my vn) and the others that i build engines for.If you dont want to Help me out with some info thats fine. Ill will just keep making minor changes on my own engine untill it either goes bang or gets better.

You will need to run 12P for the 2 bar map sensor, the stock bin does not support that. Once you are running 12P, then there is a pair of flags to select 2 bar and you need to populate the boost fuel and spark tables with sane values. As said I think you would be far better off visiting in person and useing data logs from the vehicle to tune from but thats your call to make. If you are working from your mates descriptions and via post you might be able to stop it pinging and get it running but the result will be far short of what the system would be capable of.

OK i did a tune for my mate with 5 deg of spark taken out and it stoped it from pinging At 7psi of boost.
My mate is building a new motor for it to suit boost wan when he is finished im going to do some live tuning with my ostrich or convert his ecu to 12p and do it like that.
