Hi All!
I have an Opel Corsa A (1987) with 13NB engine.
It's a carbureator engine but electronic pre-ignition controlled (probably GM 16061110 BL but I will check).
I want to install bike carbs in the future and using E85 for example.
I didn't open the "box" YET, therefore I don't know this unit have EPROM or something.
Anyone have unseen idea is it possible to remapping/customizing the pre-ignition table somehow?
Thanks!

Re: Pre-ignition control unit remapping
there hasnt been any discussion about such a system here yet, but keep an eye on the thread someone might know and contribute.

Re: Pre-ignition control unit remapping
Thanks the reply!
The GM number is matching, but it not too openable easily without any damage.
Maybe I will buy an another used one to get experiment
Hopefully I will be return soon with a result!

Re: Pre-ignition control unit remapping
I got an another one from a Kadett. It is same part no., but it's labeled BM.
Hopefully will be working fine (especially after the disassemble
)!

The beginning of the disassembling:

The box filled up something gel (prevent the electronic from shocking I think) in the factory:

Winkle out a bit of gel with srewdriver. Sqeezing the box gently and stressing out the panel:

Re: Pre-ignition control unit remapping
It looks it have a connector (like the older floppy IDE cables):

and it not an EPROM but looks it's a PIC (so, probably it can be programming from the "IDE" connector).
Anyone have information about this IC (Delco 16061863) and about this connector? How can I read/write?

Re: Pre-ignition control unit remapping
The pcb edge connector looks like the same era as the delco C3 pcms. It might have an eprom, or the calibration might be on the delco chip you've posted the ID from.
It will be some decades (?) older than a pic (80s) but it'll still be an mcu with some kind of tune in there somewhere.
Nobody (that i know of) has a list of delco chip part numbers, but they are often technology licenced from others (motorola from what ive seen) so it turns in to a game of count the pins and look at the code and try and figure out what the equivalent main stream chip is.
Nice work on cleaning up the board

Re: Pre-ignition control unit remapping
I will clean it fully and trying to find any info based on the pcb in my spare time,
but I think temporarily it's a stopped project because I have a lot of other tasks on my car.
I will report when I find something.
Thanks again the tips!
