Hi guys,
A couple of weeks ago i posted a question in regards to my vn having idling issues. The car would idle sometimes and other time you need to nurse the pedal to get it to idle without stalling. The car has a lumpier than standard cam installed by a previous owner so simply changing the memcal to a standard one is out of the question. Just recieved the prom burner in the mail. I have removed the prom from the memcal and downloaded the bin from it. i have compared this bin in Tunerpro to another bin i downloaded earlier and the values dont apear to be adding up. I would expect the timing values and fuel requirements to be a bit different but the difference is quite radical. I have included the bin for you guys to have a look at. Any comments would be appreciated.
Mod update: bin removed.

Re: VN V8 idle woes
i think its either a bad read or the bin is larger than you have selected.
is it a standard UV erprom ?
is it a standard UV erprom ?
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Nah, that is correct. The1's bin ID tool says:

Finding an XDF for it is the next trial....

Re: VN V8 idle woes
Thanks for the info. Its more than i had!
How are the XDFs obtained that we can use to read the bins in tunerpro? I read on a web site some can be programmed into the eprom. Is this the case and if so is there a way of getting this off the prom? Otherwise has anyone got any ideas on where to start? It has been annoying me for some time now to the point where i refuse to give up. I am pretty green on getting this deep into the brains of the delco systems so i appologise in advance for any dumb questions.

Yeah ok. Only just read that last post. Proprietry rubbish. Whats the next best option? Trying to modify a standard tune to a point where it is "good enough".

Well, I wouldnt necessarily say its rubbish - COME do what they do well, but the tune is probably randomly matched to your car instead of being made for it.
XDFs are figured out by people who can do it (its not trivial) and we try to archive as many of them as we can here. But we do not have one for come.
Yes starting with a 12p factory v8 tune and going from there would probably be your best option.
