Hi there any who might happen across this thread.
I have a VQ Statesman 5.0ltr V8 Auto.
The engine has mild cam cleaned up and recoed heads, double valve springs, 3 angle valve grind, swirl polished.
1st oversize pistons, acl rings, 10 - 1 compression, balanced, hi vol oil pump, double row timing, acl bearings... etc
Auto has been rebuilt with HD internals, beast reaction cage, corvette servos, stage 2 shift kit, hi stall 2400 convertor.
the reason for all the info is i would like to know if it is possible for 1). A switch to control convertor lockup ?
2). Switchable on the fly engine maps ? i know this is possible with aftermarket computer but i would like to know if this is possible with the delco computer. I am asuming i would need an nvram module perhaps xtra ram or rom for extra maps ?
When i say "on the fly" switchable, i am willing to stop and throw the switch (lol) if things need to be off to do so. I am just trying to get around having to "reflash" the ecm everytime i might want a slighly different tune.
Maybe im just dreaming and if so, please tell me to %$@$#% off !!
cheers.

dual maps is possible vl400s nvram can do it you can run 2 separate codes or you can run 12p in it as well and it also has a map a and b
as for the tcc you can wire in an overide switch if you want just a matter of gounding pin a7 if i remember

Re: VQ V8 TCC in cabin switch ?
its all possible, but i wouldn't say a TCC switch is optimal......
if you are just wanting to change the speed at which it comes on and off you can change that in the tune, what exactly are you trying to achieve ?

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: VQ V8 TCC in cabin switch ?
in regards to the tcc switch, i would like to be able to "unlock" it. The reason is sometimes when cruising 100-110 km's if aproaching slight incline it will load up engine in top gear with convertor locked up, i would like to be able at this point to unlock and still be in fourth rather than having to plant foot for auto kickdown to activate as this will throw back to third. Again guys, new to this so may be other way to correct this but this is what i would think would be handy solution. Is there any inherent probs doing this ?
Cheers for all the help.

Re: VQ V8 TCC in cabin switch ?
if the TCC is not locking/unlocking at the load points or kmh points you want you can adjust this in the tune, there should be no reason to manually unlock it on a hill!

Re: VQ V8 TCC in cabin switch ?
ok, so then it sounds like i need some tools/ software then ? can i " grab" the data from the current config of the ecu to be able to tell exactly what it is and isnt doing now ?
also, is the speedo adjustable via a cog or gear change somewhere or is it changeable from programming ? I have changed rear diff ratio, wheel size and i have checked speed against gps and it registers higher on speedo than actual speed. I am wondering if maybe this has something to do with tcc lockup too early if speedo controlled by ecm ?
Newbie here so making assumptions.
