S1VNV6Hilux Tuning

Post by S1VNV6Hilux »

The tuning adventures begin... after much help from everyone on this forum and VL400's NVRAM conversion i have now got to the point where i can start tuning

But i haven't got off to the best start as i must of stuffed up somewhere.... i started by downloading current bin from ecu with tunerpro (all worked) then went to make changes to the ppk and high speed fan.. both gave me an error couldn't save.. but the values changed so i thought i would give it a crack and upload the changes. Then i got the Version Mismatch error - Attempt to write a v1.1.0 calibration to a v1.1.1 device.... :hmm:
i have included a link of a snapshot of my TunerPro screen shot with my current setting and the error https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/1072 ... 7001856145

Yes, VL400 has reported that issue to me in v1.30 of the plugin - its my fault. I'll have it fixed shortly. But in the mean time use v1.25 https://pcmhacking.net/forums/download ... hp?id=3950

Success!! first tuning complete :) i have changed my ppk and now have accurate wheel speed at ecu and also have changed my high speed fan to come on at 92 deg instead on 99.50 to better suit my 4wd drive conversion.. Now i just need to change my TCC from a manual switch setup back to being controlled by the ecu. If anyone has info on a setup that better suits a 4x4 i would really appreciate your advise.. when is the best speed to lock / unlock ?? explanation on all the parameter changes that can be made, etc

Can anyone please provide information about the TCC parameters and explain there function? I understand the lock/unlock speed parameters but have no idea about the others.

The coast items are for if your driving along with the TCC locked and back off on the throttle it will release the TCC and wait for a bit of time before it locks back up - this stops the TCC locking and unlocking too quickly if your on and off the throttle a bit. The delta throttle positions are for detecting a rapid change in throttle position (delta = difference and you will see this term in lots of items) to unlock the TCC.

Prob not TCC related so much, but the FAQ has some good reading (https://pcmhacking.net/forums/view ... f=7&t=1396) along with the common terms thread (https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopi ... 4029#p2489).

Wiring the TCC back to the ECU tomorrow and doing some road tests. Then my next step will be to install a WBO2. Do i need complete kit or just the sensor to use with the NVRAM & TunerPro ? Im pretty sure i only need the sensor ? are there many different types or are they all mainly bosh :?:

you will need the sensor and some controller with it to convert the WB to a 0-5v analog signal for the ecm to use.
