Memcal Cover has Been glued on!

After about 30mins of leverage i got the cover plate pealed back.

Just incase you were in a hurry it's glued and sealed in.
IMG_8463.jpg
Lets try and get the case open so we can remove the memcal. Yes it's glued as well.

Case finally removed. Yes the header plugs were also glued in.

Now we have the board out we may as well check for those extra components that should be there, yep! none there. Just a stock Auto PCM.

LMAO,

Looks like it was fun... NOT

Just changing that from auto to manual wouldn't that have caused other idle airflow & different sorts of issues or was there answer 1 full turn in on the idle screw?

I think the breadboard is there for extra surface area to glue the cover to, I don't know why you would use breadboard theres plenty of cheaper options. I also don't get why you would goto those lengths of basicly destroying a pcm unless you have something to hide, in this case an auto pcm being sold as manual. The other being stage4 tune you'd atleat expect a remapped spark table or something. Then not to mention the price there being sold for you would expect a legit manual pcm

Maybe the breadboard is for extra RFI screening?
...and maybe "stage 4" doesn't refer to the tune, but instead means marinised - suitable for use in submarine cars with all that glue sealing it up :wtf:
I've seen his stuff on ebay before, but hadn't considered he was a complete fraud :o

I don't see any anti-static wrist straps in the pics, I think there's a chance you may have voided the warranty

The note about the stop screw is on there because it's an auto PCM, so the manual VSS sensor wont be working at all as the components are missing on the pcb, Then cause you screwed the TB stop screw in to stop the stalling the TSP, sorry TPS sensor will be out of range hence why turning the key on and off is needed to reset TPS to 0% at the new voltage, which is still hopefully in range, but i doubt it. Thread below showing the extra components needed to make it a T5 pcm.

The latest in memcal security, seed: Superglue and key: Hammer

Lots to hide in there, so many people purchase these expecting a product that does all its claimed to do too :( Thanks for the insight

I reckon the prototype board is just to make it look technical and modified inside if you start trying to peel the memcal cover off. I guess without the speedo mods on the pcb, none of these would allow for a working speedo?
