Re: 3F Carby Landcruiser Delco 808
Still waiting on intake gasket. Bloody covs. Got a msd 6A off a mate today and
Some standard ls1 injectors he had laying around. I only want 200kw at engine
So if it maxes out then ill upgrade later.
Ordered ignition module, pulse generator and coolant temp sensor. I'll hold off
On the new tps and iac until I get the throttle body and loom.
Hoping you guys can help otherwise ill have to make one. I need
A surge rank I can mount horizontal on the chassis rail in the engine bay.
As I'm going to feed it off the mechanical pump in the engine bay.
But all the ones I see on the net are to be mounted upright.

to be accurate you really need a wideband!
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: 3F Carby Landcruiser Delco 808
i know they're pretty rare, but have you tried to find a 3F-E inlet and dizzy ? i reckon they were only in really early 80 series. i'm pretty sure they were fuel only, so the dizzy might need welding up. also, is there any way you could use a falcon or holden 6 dizzy with some shaft mods ? it if you cut the shaft off an old F motor dizzy and machined a hex onto it, you may be able to slip it into the bottom of a falcon dizzy.
another thing to consider is that the F motors don't seem to deal with any extra heat very well. (i.e lean cruise mixtures or lpg.) i've seen a few which cracked and/or toasted the exhaust valves and seats. one from just having been leaned off a bit at cruise. have you thought about adressing this ? maybe with some bleeds drilled into the head ?

Re: 3F Carby Landcruiser Delco 808
Alright guys this is kind of on hold until the new year. Got hit with a few large unexpected bills which has taken up all my spare cash.
I dont plan on doing anything with the head for now. This is purely just a bit of fun and learning and see what extra power i can get
out of the cruiser. if it blows it blows. Then i can get a injected v8 put in which is really the end goal.
Cheers

if that's the case i'd just do the V8 conversion and save your time and money.

Nah this is purely a learning exercise. I own my car outright and no longer require it for daily duties.
I have been wanting to mess around with this for the last couple of years and never had the opportunity
whether it be buying a house kids etc. So now that I can i dont mind if i blow this engine purely for
the learning side of things. If i went straight to a v8 and screwed it up i would be rather pissed.
