No need to hack up a memcal if you use the adaptors from moates. I use the GP1 adoptor with the ZIF fitted to hook up the Ostrich to realtime tune. There are a few combo's of limp home chips and knock. When you use the adaptor you retain your original memcal and tune. You just by pass the original eprom. This way it saves you having a collection of memcals to support the different models. After I finish the tune, I program it to a 27sf512 chip and fit up a G1 adaptor and send them on there way. Have a look through the chip offset doc and that will explain things for you there.

The G4 adaptor you will not use in AUS really, you should email Craig and change your order to the GP1. Get a couple of the G1 adaptors as there pretty cheap and these are the items that your customers will purchase.

There are plans to maybe replace the later memcals all together with something like the G4 and this will save hacking into memcals full stop.

Just my humble opinion. Think about it and you will get the drift.

Cheers

Thats how i do it to.Doesnt cost a cent. The uv eraser has paid for itself many times over ,and saves digging eprom out and having to solder a new socket in.

i actually socket most memcals cause i havnt had much like with programming headers for the burner to memcal .got it down to a fine art takes about 3 mins to socket a memcal now start to finish.i did manage to program my first memcal whole today with my new burner so maybe it was the burner causing issues not the header i was using

everything turned up yesterday loaded the 12S bin and xdf into tuner pro uploaded it to the ostrich
used the flash tool to upload the cal , but cant seem to get the logging to work using scannerpro and the vr_$12_v1.03.adx
the reading are constantly jumping all over the place even with the key turned off.
Also havent been able to get the car to start using the 12S bin.
vn 5l v8 auto box 808 with vl400s aldl - usb mod
vl400's flash tool connects fine and uploads and downloads everything fine so it must be working right?
could it just be a prob with the vr_$12_v1.03.adx it does say manual in the description

Have you turned off anti theft in the $12 bin? This could account for the no start.

also try changing the cable echo setting, if you have it on the wrong setting, it can think the echos are the actual data and make the needles jump around a bit.

i think for scanner pro with the usb board you want to have the echo box ticked ??

if you change the setting you'll probably need to close and re-open scanner pro ... its dodgy like that.
