Delco 808 ECU Mirage turbo

Hi ,

I have a Delco ECU in my mirage Turbo with a custom tune. I would like to have a go at tuning as i want to increase the boost from 8psi to 10 .
what would be the best equipment for me to buy to be able to modify the tune ? i was thinking an EPROM burner.

is there any way of backing up my current tune as it runs very well as is and don't want to loose it

eprom programmer and uv eraser are the bare minimum to do what you need.

what model of delco is it ?

If you want to get serious a complete set up would be:

an nvram board

then together with ose 12p software for the pcm you will have a real time tunable system

And a gq-4x usb eeprom programmer for reading and backing up the current tune (you'll most likely need to port some of the tables accross to ose 12p), there are a few places that sell this programmer on the if you google it.

And you'll need a wideband o2 sensor to do things properly under boost, the most popular one seems to be the innovate motorsports mtx-l which will connect the ecu and provide wideband data on the computer while tuning.

Thanks for the replies . So with th nvram setup I could migrate my current tune over ?

Also wideband 02 is supported on my ECU ?

you can usually migrate it over, but it depends whats on it now. If you got the gq4x and made or purchased an adaptor to fit the memcal to the burner https://pcmhacking.net/forums/view ... =14&t=1275 (or found someone who can read the memcal for you), then you can sus out what you have now and post it up and we can advise. If its a 'normal' tune, and based on a factory tune, then you can do a difference between factory and yours and see what they have changed, use excel to adjust the table size where they are different (12p has higher resolution spark/ve tables, among other differences) and move it over. Its not a point/click/done thing, but can be done. This thread comes to mind for someone whos gone down this path recently. Its also possible (and often the case) where you do this and find the current tune can be a bit hacky and works but isnt quite right... in which case you can still use it for information but can come up with something better. Where are you located? There might be someone nearby who can help you do a read.

The wideband is an extra with the 12p software. The factory software does not have it, but the hardware has some spare inputs. With 12p that is one of the things you gain. See the ose12p thread for a complete list.
