What masks can a 16176424 run

Post by vn5000 »

I was a bit bored tonight so i got a 6424 pcm and wired it up on the bench.Loaded bckc bin and all working fine .Out of interest i loaded a $12 blcf bin at 8000 - ffff but ecm wont accept this bin ,ie wont flash any codes.808s can take different size bins and masks such as 128k and 256k bins, so why cant 6424 that can take 512k bin, process a 256k bin on a 512k eprom with correct offset. Noticed cal on bckc starts at 6000 but pcm is told where to load cal at very end of the code ,so it should read end of code on blcf and know to load bin at 8000 .Does anyone know why this wont work.

The '424 hardware is totally different to a '808 so $12 code will not run. The code *may* have been executing but will appear lifeless as all the hardware registers and mapping is wrong. A watchdog may have also been reseting the processor which stops it doing anything.

There may be others that work (never tried or looked for any), but the only ones that are certain to work are those released by GMH for that hardware.

Have not touched it for sometime, the testers that were running it reported no problems. So as soon as 12P is done you will see 11S very soon after :)

Thanks for that vl 400. I reckon there will be a lot of happy delco hackers when you do release these.

I take it you will be able to adjust auto parameters with ose $11 which i dont think you can do with kalmaker can you?

With OSE, EVERYTHING is available to adjust. This means its uber complex but also very flexible. Using TunerPro you can setup categories to limit what is displayed - so it can display just the basics if you want.
