I'm in the process of doing a vx v6 conversion in to a 4X4 and the pcm is an auto but the ute is manual, should I just do some get bins and just change the flag to manual and write cal or shoud I use the orignal factory manual bin and write that cal.
I have noticed slighty differnt tables to the factory VX manual bin and the bin I got from my pcm.
I did down load the VX auto bin as well and its the same as I got from my pcm.
Will the slight differance in table be an issue or not ?
Thanks

Re: Changing Auto to Manual VX flash
You will need to do a full BIN update as the bin references different sections out of cal area so if you use different cal to bin probably would do a lot of weird things!
But if you use another bin then you'll loose bcm link so you'll need to disable vats & then relink if you have capabilities!

Will writing your original EE data back into the new tune take care of that?VX L67 Getrag wrote:But if you use another bin then you'll loose bcm link so you'll need to disable vats & then relink if you have capabilities!

I'm not 100% sure I've never known/seen where the link section goes, but think it could be linked to a message that's sent over the bus as it shows up in 2 areas in the bin?

They are in the EEPROM, there is addressing so you can sort the VATS out (EBE to EC0 = BCM Security Bytes) here .. https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopi ... 502&p=6035

Re: Changing Auto to Manual VX flash
That same BCM security info is found at 365, 366 & 367 so does that need to be changed too & should auto link the PCM with BCM? or does only the 1 you indicated need changing?

Re: Changing Auto to Manual VX flash
They are just RAM copies of the EEPROM items to help speed up the code at run-time.

Re: Changing Auto to Manual VX flash
if the VATs enabled bin worked with just EBE, EBF & EC0 copied you have VL400 to thank for that, I knew it was there but wasn't sure if just copying those would work!
