VY FLASH XDF not correct.

Post by zspanners »

Hi All, had good sucess with a VY V6 Auto Flash PCM yeterday.
This vehicle has a MACE stage two cam , CAI , extractors and full exhaust , it had previously been fitted with a Haltech Intercepter ??.
The vehicle had previously been tuned with a Haltech Intercepter and although it ran OK it had numerous issues with drivability and stalling when putting into gear etc.
After a couple of baseline runs I removed the intercepter and re-performed a couple more Dyno runs for reliable baseline Data.
The vehicle made more power with the STD PCM and tune.

Using the Flashtool and the posted ADX File I have remapped this vehicle and corrected the drivability issues and improved the power output by approximately 12 %, 132 KW to 146.8 KW.

The only issue that I had was with PE Commanded AFR Vs Coolant Temp.
The STD bin file lists the PE as 12.80 , setting this to 12.60 resulted in the AFR (Logged and diplayed) at 13.00.

Setting the Commanded AFR to 13.00 and reflashing results in the AFR being 12.6 ( both Logged as commanded and actual AFR ).

Conclusion the ADX apears to be inverted for PE Commanded AFR Vs Coolant Temp.

Not sure of the ADX Author , but can this be fixed??.

PS I have looked at this file with both versions of the ADX $060A (2.2 and 2.5)
The STD BIN file is VY V6 $060 Auto 92118883.

Thank You to all those who contributed to making this (Flashtool and ADX/BIN Files) available and working.

Yeah that was an issue with xdf ages ago thought it had been fixed ill do it when I get a chance & post it back up (wrong calc).

I guess being a mail order tune it has to be conservative, but nice gains what areas did you change, just timing or fuelling too?

??????????? MAIL ORDER TUNE ?????????????

NO , this is tuned on the dyno.
Fuel and timing areas optimised plus rev limit raised slightly.
Standard vehicle only runs 110 KW i would think with minimal mods 146 kw is quite good , this is not a supercharged vehicle just a 150K NA v6.

Ahh Sorry, I assumed being a mace stage 2 cam you got his mail order tune to suit too & re-tweaked!

Anyway here is the new XDF with PE corrected & Techoboy was asking about the DFCO stuff so I looked into it & for the $06a XDF which suits 92118883 to 92118889 calibrations seems to be right in this adjusted XDF as I have fixed the commanded AFR for PE calculation also

But I’m not 100% on the DFCO calcs as rpm in earlier calibrations may have been 1400 & 1200 & the MG/Cyl may have been 109.38 & 132.81 & Speed error -0.125 (both) & forced spark was supposed to be 3.2813 & TPS disable is supposed to be 2.3438 & coolant disable is supposed to be 80 degree’s & KPH disable is supposed to be 25!

MOD's can move to the XDF section if it all checks out!

you don't need $06b xdf as that doesn't suit your calibration!

Hi Thank you for looking at the XDF so quickly.

The vehicle came from another workshop and they had fitted the Cam , intake , exhaust and Haltech.
We just have the job of sorting it all out and making it run properly!!

We removed the Haltech and started back with the STD PCM and then reflashed from there.
We have not had to look at decel fuel , but I have had to raise the idle commanded speed in neutral and drive due to the cam and poor manifold vacuum.
Idealy I would like to run open loop idle but the apears to be no access to do this.
There is an open loop idle table , but this does not seem to be used in the short term , maybe befor O2 becomes active or after sustained idle and cold O2 ???

Are you the man to talk to about the XDF file and other missing parameters??.

Good to know you believe the factory PCM is better than haltech interceptor, hadn't tried 1 but believe there's no need to go aftermarket as these pcm's are capable of quite a bit!

On the open loop idle I never needed to go down that track as I just changed the way the throttle follower works!

have you resynced the injector timing? can affect idle quality a bit. I think it's in the xdf, if not can find it.

Any time you set the OPEN LOOP IDLE AFR VS ENGINE TEMP table to a value other than stoich it will be open loop idle, wont it?

yes and thats for idle and main afr tables.

as far as the haltech interceptor goes, its probably not necessarily that it doesn't do a good job but its only ever as good as the people that program it ;)

that said theres no need for anything aftermartket if you do your homework
