cheers for the help with this- I've managed to get a more reasonable reading.. however tunerpro wb afr is showing about 0.7-0.9 higher than the MTX-L gauge.... I cant figure out why? Ive earthed the gauge/controller to the PCM but it hasnt helped.

yes ive found various MTX-L's vary with there 5v output, some only get to 4.8volt @ 22.40 AFR.

So what you need to do is when the wideband is cold and outputting 22.40, use a plain calc of X in the ADX and see what count value it reads, most likely will not be 255 but something slightly lower then input that number into your equation here. It should then read correctly.

Hey mate sounds like the similar issues I had at the start

here is my calculation give it a go and see if you get closer readings

(((22.40-7.35)/255)*x)+7

thanks for the suggestions guys- will give it a shot tomorrow. Need to get it working coz in the process of sorting out why my BLM % is so high especially for RH side... reading around -11% wanna get everything right before i even begin trying to tune fuel.

i tried both of the above when the car was cold and without the engine running mtx-l gauge read 22.4 and count read 255. i also tried the equation suggested trikky which got me a bit closer- i was still out by 0.5 so i just subtracted that from the end and it seems ok now..
my equation reads: (((22.40-7.35)/255)*x)+6.5

why the offset when the count reads max at the same time the gauge outputs its max value..?

hang on.. if the mtx reads above 5v at 22.4 then that makes sense, since anything above 5v to pin A5 will max out the count? so most like the gauge outputs greater than 0v when afr is 7.35?

if your not getting 0v @ or below 7.35 then probably check your earth.

fair point- will have to do.. just had another look and the difference in gauge reading tp5 reading is not const. my +5v source is cig lighter and my earth point is on the PCM case..

its behaving strangely (seem like it to me anyway) afrs are swinging from around 12 to as high as 16 (even 17) and im only running a stock tune (CKUL bin enhanced) so no changes made yet. im having trouble identifying whether the gauge/controller is faulty or if i have problems elsewhere (and to what extent). would a firmware update to the gauge and recal of the sensor help maybe?

I suspect i have an exhaust leak also (given the smell coming from my engine bay and the clicking that appears every now and again)- could this effect afrs this much?

So your getting those swings with the engine idling? Yeh exhaust leak wont help if it sucks in extra air which would cause the lean reading.

no at idle it stays fairly constant usually around 13.9-14.8 although that's a range it will sit at a roughly const value in that range when i pull up to lights or just start the car etc.
