Re: My Delcoed Rides
I fixed the tune up the night before, just a rough drop of VE's in the lower ranges and it seems to be pretty close now
I think you'll be happy with the results

Re: My Delcoed Rides
by the way for those interested, this was my first real outing with the 36 - 1 trigger wheel and VL400's ignition module running it and 1 x LS2 coil, all seemed to work faultlessly!

Re: My Delcoed Rides
looks like it struggles a lot on the corners lol

Re: My Delcoed Rides
yeah the front tyres really were pretty shit
I don't think it helped that I had track tyres on the back and not on the front! maybe if I do another one I might try and get something better for the fronts!

Re: My Delcoed Rides
I don't think its the tyres, its would be more the suspension setup to be that slow around corners.
I have cheap china tyres on my VP and it flys around corners. I can beat just about everyone on round abouts in melbourne lol 60-70ks on most and got almost 80 on some of the bigger round about. yes the tyres make a difference but not near as much as suspension mods do.
What do you have on your setup?
I found the biggest difference came from use of superpro bushes all round. 2+ º extra caster and slight increase of negative camber on the front.
Stiffer sway bars back and front. by the looks its an understeerer, so if thats the case beef the back bar more than the front, only go up a small to medium increase in thickness as too much in one go can make it a handful and you wont be able to determine what change has caused what effect.
use poly bushes on the sway links or if you can ball/hemi joints as I have found that increases sway bar effectiveness a lot.
solid strut tops or at least poly ones. K mac adjustable ones are the beez knees.
just a good shocker is all you need. track times are a large portion to do with handling, especially on a hill climb.
here something for inspiration. btw I have no idea what these guys run, look more like go kart setup to me lol

hope that helps.

Re: My Delcoed Rides
yeah the suspension is probably not that good at all for track work
but I was more referring to the grip level of the tyres, they are too hard a compound and just slide rather than grip .... put it this way, the Bridgestone Adrenalins on my commodore ute grip better
but it was all I had.
could watch them opels all day long hey
antus will love that video clip.
