vt and vy engine wiring loom swap

Post by drippy »

ok so ive got myself a VT engine wiring loom and ecu at a nice cheap price haha
so my question to the wise ones out there, as im hopeless at reading the wiring looms haha

if i swap the VY loom with the VT loom will it work? i know the ecu's are different pin outs ect. but will the
loom connect up the same as the VY one? or is it differently pinned when it connects to the rest of the VY harness?

thanks heaps for help :)

Yeh sorry, it is in a vy,
I know the vt ecu was in the vy with the supercharged models

I'm wanting to avoid having to repin the wiring loom if I can avoid it haha
To many wires...

Not sure what your trying to achieve but another potential issue is you need to run a vy bin to keep the dash happy. So it will be a s/c bin, if your sticking with the na engine you will have some changes to make.

i have a raptor supercharger, thats why im changing to the S/C vy bin,
im just seeing if i can swap the looms over as ive got a complete one here, otherwise ill be repinning the connector... i want to avoid this haha
it would have been nice if they had the same pinouts so i could plug and play :(

What is your location? Maybe a tuner in your area can help you with this. I personally would stick with the flash VY PCM.

I'm in Geelong, Vic, I know I can get a Kelmaker tune but I'd rather diy it lol more satisfaction.
I'm running an ok tune on the flash pcm at the moment but would like more range on the tables
I'll have to try and follow the wiring diagrams when I get home to see if I can swap looms with minimal effort otherwise it will be a Saturday in the shed repinning the vy loom

it will be running around 10psi so will the enhanced bins cover that?
