When are you going to have this finished? I might have to come down to see it run.

a real compressor at last should flow 600-700hp and spool earlier than the china T70.a test run sometime in the next week if i can get a clamp to hold the compressor cover on.if the test on the VB works this will be my turbo of choice

same size wheels as the T70 different blade counts and blade angles should in a whole be a more efficient turbo coming on boost and hopefully not get choked by the extra blades in the same size rear housing

Howdy Mike,

Thats looking pretty cool!

Your header set up is pretty similar to what I have planed for my corolla. I think you will end up with a bag of snakes on the "passenger" side when you try to get it equal length. Might also make it a pain in the arse to get the down pipe through to the back. In all the years i have spent bench racing and dreaming up "the best way" to make a single turbo work on my car I have spent a lot of time looking into the older single turbo indy car engines. The most interesting and relevant one's for us was the old Buick turbo's. They usually made more Hp than the DOHC engine ( they were allowed more boost) but seemed to never go the distance due to push rod valve trains working at 9000 + rpm.

Anyway, Dig up a photo of one of those engines. The primary lengths weren't that long but they ran reasonably long secondary lengths. I think this helped at higher RPM so it might not be all that relevant in a drag car set up. i think it would make the car perform very well in a narrower power band, so if you have a gear box to match then you could work for you.

I am really looking forward to see how the v6 deals with 600 + hp.

Cheers,

Doug

we allready push a v6 to over 400rwhp and it does that with ease on shit manifolds at low revs what that equates to at the flywheel is anyones guess but has to be 450-500hp.i have pics of so many turbo buick headers its not funny and they can make upwards of 700hp on an aftermarket factory style log manifold setup LOL they have fitment restraints where i do not i can build pipes going everywhere if i have to and in this thing theres more room than in any model commodore LOL

few crucial measurements done all pipes 750mm long +/- 10mm around 29-30" 2 pipes have same number of bends 1 pipe has 1 extra bend i might try get rid of.that works out to be around 850cc each pipe so will hopefully let the whole cylinder evacuate plus a little extra intake charge :D
