Re: My Delcoed Rides
What pump are you using for your methanol? The std work ok with methanol for a while but will start to leak fuel out after a while,we managed to find a place in QLD. that sells a pump the same as a bosch 044 for about $100 thats working ok

Re: My Delcoed Rides
got a pretty reasonable tune running in the gemini now ... still alot of lean and rich spots but generally its running well!!!
did my own little home dyno session, diff on wheel stands and foot hard on the brake
<-- thats smoke off the brakes hehehe
the videos (high and low quality) are here if anyone wants to hear it ... revved it to about 5200rpm fairly close to redline, only goes to about 5500-6000 with this cam

not much more to do now before putting some more methanol in it!! then i can really get stuck into proper tuning!

Re: My Delcoed Rides
got the first tank of methanol in the gem with the new injectors .... LOVES IT!!!
its a bit rich but its a flat AFR graph through the revs so im happy .... very responsive on meth, revs cleanly and went alright on my home dyno
i've thrown more timing into the tune to try tomorrow arvo .... once i get it close and im happy with it, will pretty much leave it as is till i can get a few things sorted then its off to the dyno to see what she does
took a video of my home dyno run tonight ... only problem with it is it seems to hit a wall at 5000rpm .... should rev to atleast 6000rpm so im not sure whats going on there, its not tune related so i dunno .... but thats the other thing the dyno will show me i suppose!
anyways if you want to see the video, link is below, 9mb.

Re: My Delcoed Rides
well i have been trying to save my dollars for some bits i need for the gemini, so i started looking for things to do that don't cost me money and i found this!
so as i have the fuel cell in the boot i didn't need a fuel filler hole... and while i could have left the original little flap on it i thought if i welded a plate over it that might make it look a little neater.....
so after some template making i got stuck into an old piece of Torana bonnet that was cut out for the hole in the A9X scoop, and made this piece and got to welding it in.
the main thing with welding car panels is to try and avoid getting it too hot as it will warp panels very easily.... i was mostly successful with this, you can see in the below picture at the bottom of the new panel there is a slight warp .... bit annoyed but it also shouldn't be too hard to fix i hope!
so next step will be to grind all the welds smooth and see how it came up! then i will be doing the same thing on the other side.

Re: My Delcoed Rides
mainly used a plank of wood up in the rear quarter to lever the panel out and at the same time used a hammer to hit the areas around it to get it to stay out, then once it was close i used a dolly in place of the wood and the hammer to get it as good as i could, its not perfect but it is pretty close .... took a while though!!
