dfi on 202

Post by chello1961 »

I know this may have discussed before but is there an easy to follow guide to allow the fitting of a full VN setup including correct wiring to be able to include DFI module and coilpack onto a 202 efi motor. What sensors do I need etc. (maybe a link to a previous discussion)I have all the required hardware and will be fitting a cam sensor and crank sensor to the engine. just need an idiots guide so to speak to be able to wire it up.

Cheers all

The crank trigger is the difficult part in fitting the V6 DIS .. http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic. ... t=10#p2103

You need both an 18x and 3x crank trigger. Another option is the US DIS module which uses a far simpler 6+1 trigger .. http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic. ... =128#p1022

your probably better off doing something like what VL400 has suggested or with one of his ignition modules do a 6 x LSx coil setup.

see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2540

also 6 coils on 202 here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic. ... 540#p30964

i'm running a 36 - 1 trigger wheel on mine with 6 x coils in wasted spark config.

Awsome setup with the six coil job. I am currently making up a 36-1 wheel and will be fitting a cam sensor also. How did you wireup the six coil setup. Do you have a diagram?

VL400 made an aftermarket igntion module to run it all, once its ready for production release it might be an option for you, no point bothering with wiring if its not available though :)

Looking to finally get set up to fit my vn injection setup onto the 202, just a few questions about programing. I have the boards fitted and setup from VL400 (many thanks) but how or where do I get the xdf files etc to be able to start tuning. keep reading about these files but being a novice cant seem to locate / come to grips with. Any help please.

download the OSE 12P from here, has bin files, adx, xdf etc to get you going.

there is also a 202 tune i made in this thread that might be a handy starting point for you.
