Ecotec into vr auto

Post by v8-tuning »

Hi
Got a vs ecotec full conversion sitting around
And my brother needs a new engine
In his vr auto , will everything connect up
to the ecotec besides the change of
Temp sensor, map line vr coil pack?
Are the headers different? Converter bolt up?
Just want to confirm a few things b4
i go ahead.
I can tune the car but will it run
On a vr auto tune ok once
Timing and ve etc are done?

it sounds like you planning to run the VR computer and wiring loom on the ecotec ?

exhaust will be different, gearbox will be fine, coil pack is the same so no need to swap that. if your running the vr loom you'll need to swap the temp sensor most of the rest is ok as far as just re-routing wires to suit the ecotec and will also need to use MAT from vr and also use the knock sensor from VR

i made a $12P tune for the ecotec on vn computer so you could probably get the spark and ve tables from it, that will give you a pretty close starting point for a tune.

Yeah want to run the vr ecu and
Run the map sensor.
Can you just change the cast headers
Or does the whole exhaust need changing.
I got a complete standard system
off my vs if i have to use the whole
System.

Just the cast header, you'll find the left side VS header very hard to get and expensive. As they all crack there. you can use a VT one with blocked EGR port other than that they are still the same header.

I think you'll need to make up something to join the cast headers to the VR exhaust as its a bit different.

If your using the cast stock manifolds and your bar has a stock exhaust the y piece from your vr will bolt straight up as mine did no mods bending or anything
