304's warm up real quick if everything is as it should be. A larger radiator shouldn't effect the running temperature as that is controlled by the thermostat. How quickly does the dash temp gauge come up? As mentioned above, you may have a temp sensor problem.

ide say its about 10-15 mins until it hits normal temp in cold weather, summer its quicker. but it may take longer to heat up with a larger radiator.

not using the dash gauge as ive got a autometer gauge.

Dash gauge and the PCM each have there own sensors.
