You can test the output by adjusting the settings in the LM programmer. I have not tested this yet but from reading the manual it should work...

The 'Output at Error Cond.' is by default 0 volts. So you can use that to force a voltage and compare what TP reads with no sensor connected (ie no heater causing ground offsets). Setting it at 2.5V TP should read 14.87 AFR if the MTX-L is set to default values. The calc is (Voltage/5 * (22.39-7.35)) + 7.35 or simply (Voltage * 3.008) + 7.35. So... (2.5 * 3.008 ) + 7.35 = 14.87AFR read in TP


With the sensor connected you can adjust the 0-5V output. By default it is..
0.000V at 0.5 Lambda (7.35 AFR)
5.000V at 1.5 Lambda (22.39 AFR)

Can change both to say 2.5V and then see what TP reads. Same calc above if you want to change the voltage.

With the 14point7 spartan WB, Do I wire the signal ground(they call it electronics ground) to the existing NB signal ground? To me its looks like a virtual ground on the ECU as it doesn't continue to the actual grounds on the ECU.

I found something odd.

VP looms don't have an actual ground for the O2, goes straight to D6 and D6 is not tied to any other ground. Even with the ECU connected it doesn't loop through to any other the other grounds.

VN and VR have D6 tied with the "clean" ground, location E.

Any ideas why this is the case?

I noticed a few differences from the VN loom and wiring diagram to the VP

It might be the 1 wire type I've seen on some of the early ones. The earth wire connects to the sensor body and earth through the exhaust motor etc.

no actually the the VP have 2 wire O2, the VN series 1 had 1 wire o2 and is the loom I am working on.

so on a VP D6 goes straight to the case of the O2 sensor and no where else.

1 wire Vn O2 D6 goes to location E, tied together with the rest of the clean grounds coming from the ECU, O2 grounds via the exhaust.

VR 4 wire ground the O2 ground with D6 tied to the others as line in VN but with the addition of the O2 having the ground wire as well.

VS is the same again but they are a different ECU altogether so I won't worry about them.

The only reason I can think of is they introduced the 2 wire in VP and realized it would be better to tie "all" grounds together once VR rolled around.

VN had them tied together as 1 wire O2 gives you no choice.

Also connected the sensor and set both at 2.5 volts with sensor connected and TP read 15.40.

what loom are you using?

Its a vn v6 series 1 loom.

Anyone got any suggestions on what I can do to get my mtx-l & TP dash reading the same based on my screenshots a few posts above? Any help is greatly appreciated.
