304 Tuning wirh Torque Power Manifold.
Done some mods the stock 304 in the Torana. Added and torque power dual plane high rise manifold. Aeroflow 1375cfm throttle body and a rising rate fuel pressure reg. (set at 45psi at idle)
Took it for its first drive this morning and i was utterly disappointed. I thought it might be a little more responsive but the total opposite.
Looking for some advice now. Would it be sluggish because its sucking more air and the stock injectors cant keep up. This could also mean that im running it lean. But with the log i took it doesn't look that way. (attached)
Are there any settings i should change or look at to improve its performance?
This week i will be adding a wideband sensor.
PS. Dont worry about the readings in the log from 6:00 onwards. Some DH forgot to petrol in the car. Lucky is was only 100m from home.

My experience with one was on a 304 with a 286 cam, completely killed torque under about 4000rpm and came alive above 5000rpm, as the guy only wanted to rev it to 6000rpm was pretty useless. He went back to stock bananas and was much happier.
Probably work better with a 355 stroker and more compression.

Just been looking at their website, the one I did was a single plane, probably this one:

If you have a dual plane like this you will probably do ok on a stock motor:

The high rise one you have may be ok but probably needs more capacity, cam and compression.

I have been playing around with fuel rail. When i move one of the injectors cable is sounds like a injector pulse's and the fuel pump kicks in. I may have a short. Old wiring the insulation tends to crack.
Still wont explain the crappy performance. I hoping when i get the wideband sensor in i can tune it to suit the manifold.
Voda69, I would have thought that manifold would be fine. I wouldn't have though the performance to go backwards though.

you will always lose low rpm torque going from a banana manifold to a carby style... the bananas have really long runners which boost low end torque a lot. given the bananas are hopeless at higher RPM, its more a matter of, does your new manifold have enough up top end to make it worth the trade off.

Is the fuel pressure reg manifold referenced (connected to manifold vacuum port)? If it is than you need set the pressure with the vacuum blocked off otherwise the pressures will be all wrong. Standard reg will give about 43.5psi with no vacuum and about 38psi with full manifold vacuum.

I recon my fuel reg is out. I have a brand new aeromotive which i will install. Should have done it before.
Im not happy with my wiring loom. Its all original VN gear and it get a little worse for ware. Looks like it is all coming out and I am starting fresh.
Im a little disappointed at the moment with the manifold. I thought i should be able to tune it to reasonable performance until i get the stroker. Just cant bring myself to put the bananas back on.

I'd wait until you get the WB O2 fitted to see what it's doing. I'd also sort out those fuel pressures, currently I'd say it's running rich if anything.

Got a couple logs now. From what I can see that is pretty close to the target AFR.
I have a question on the calc VE Table in the History. Should I use the values as a guide or just use them and then smooth out the spikes?
Things I have noticed which I need a little help on. Should I aim to have the BLM table values at 100 or can they vary slightly?
Attached some logs. If anyone want to have a look over them and let me know how they look or if i need to change anything would be muchly appreciated.

take it for a drive and drive like you normally would and add in a few WOT blasts .i wouldnt go out and pull through the gears too redline untill you have a bit of tuning on it
