How do I turn on knock count logging in 12P? When I play back my logs I would like to check for any knock.
Thanks,

Re: VE Table Help
the knock should be in the logs, the only thing knock logging does when enabled is populate the "ESC - Knock Count Logging 20-100kPa" table (and the boost one below it if you are running boost)
if you do what to enable the knock logging table use"Map A: set=Knock Logging Enabled" or "Map B: set=Knock Logging Enabled" and this will only work with an NVRAM installed.
but if you just want to see it in the logs it should already be there assuming your actually getting knock!

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: VE Table Help
You can miss knock counts while logging as they happen very quickly. So for logging its often better to look at knock retard which hangs around for a bit after the counts.

Re: VE Table Help
So is knock retard when knock has been detected and then the timing is retarded? Is this shown as the number of degrees that the timing has been retarded by?

Re: VE Table Help
yeah that's correct, and you'll typically see it in a log as a big spike then a stair case effect as it drops down to zero over the next couple of seconds, makes it easier to see where the knock point is because its usually the highest point, and then if it starts dropping off then spike again you know theres more knock at that point.
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: VE Table Help
So is this an example of knock retard at the 39 - 40 second mark?

Re: VE Table Help
Hi delco, just done that and it shows 0 degrees retard as attached below. Why would the timing go down to -4.6 if it's not from knock retard?
