Ahh, there you go. Heres my v1.5. Yours has FTDI usb->serial and mine has PL 2303HX! I bet some of them have CP based ones from silabs out there too.

Heres the elm322, not a great picture as only thought to take an image after I started solder all the wires back on put back into its cramped position in the casing.
Not sure what the original maker was thinking melting all this black plastic over the cables!

Ill grab a pic of the elm327 later.

Yeah Im thinking it is. It was by a bloke that was selling them on JC back in 2005 I think. Or, its by someone that used his design schematics although it shows his email on the connector.
To be honest, its not very good and pretty slow. But hey, compare computers back in 2005 to now.. and well it was probably the bees knees then.

Back then pirated $8 pre built units didnt exist and elm electronics just sold the main chip and had their tiers. It was more of a home brew proposition. That device deserves a place in an EFI museum somewhere! (perhaps this is one here?) :)

haha sounds like a good idea, start up pcmhackings own museum of old and ancient technology.
Not only could that elm 322 go in it, but so could the old school serial eeprom programmer.. 7.2seconds to read 24C04 eeprom.. Ohh the amount of time I must have spent my life on reading out eeproms and screwing up half way with the hunk of Sh*t lol.
