it's easier to modify a VN one to go on!

It does look easy. I already have an ecotec one. I haven't looked to hard to see if it will give me any trouble. The part that the cable fits to is on the other side.

Possibly a pretty silly question but does the orientation of the throttle body make any difference? I'm hoping to use a VN throttle body on the VK manifold but with the cable connection to the bottom of the throttle body and the TPS at the top. I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work properly.

Bonnet clearance in an LJ Torana might be another issue...

Position does not matter, it just needs to fit although preferably you want to avoid having the IAC holes on the bottom to avoid dust or anything collecting in there.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

Thanks antus,

IAC on the bottom was my next most preferred position as this would provide the greatest bonnet clearance. Good to know that one is to be avoided.

the only thing i've found with the VK EFI manifold is that you need the butterfly at the top or the bottom to allow the throttle arm to work without hitting the manifold.

I did notice that but was planning on cutting off the excess portion of the cable bracket anyway as I've no need for kickdown or cruise connections.

well yes there is, its like a head bolt with a stud on top of it .... that said I've never run it on anything I've had and never had any issues with manifolds cracking or anything.
