I don't think it was the map sensor location I think its a restriction of the efi manifold .... I would suggest that one wont do it as its probably not much more than stock head. I also have a 70mm TB and the manifold is fairly ported to suit the TB and in the runners.

ive got IAT in the rear port on the back end of the plenum where the brake vacuam would of once been temp doesnt really change much just sits there around 50.map is in 2nd fitting in along plenum but might move it to TB barb yet.they say the plenum is too small on these manifolds and there may be reverberation issues but it has a nice solid map reading at the moment

the spot you have the MAT was originally a Christmas tree of vacuum hoses, for all pollution gear BS, the brake booster normally goes into one of the rearward ports ....

I have the map sensor in the barb on the edge of the TB flange on mine, I originally had it in one of the side ports at the front but it didn't make any difference moving it.

as for the plenum being too small I'd say 10-15psi will sort that issue out :P

so the dirty old stock fuel reg is buggered even though it runs great its at 0psi fuel pressure when running and only 6psi with no vacuam hose.guess the springs farked.new aftermarket reg n the way.i cheated and clamped an allen key up the vacuam port with some vice grips and got pressure up at 43psi shes now quiet the choppy little engine and happily revs out much further :D. supposidly after some chatting with the old owner its got a yella terra head and cam but the head looks stock to me

YT head maybe, but theres like 3 or 4 different versions of them, the older ones i've seen are slightly larger valves and a bit of chamber work, sometimes porting around the valve stems.

so was the reg issue causing the stumble on throttle application ? im surprised it even ran as well as it did with that little pressure!

no i think its still that setting in the tune.i wouldnt be surprised if many vk's are driving round with low pressure cause i couldnt really fault how it drove apart from not hugely powerfull.a lot of people probably just expect the lack of power as being the old tech LOL .im helping a guy on jc's who has bad economy in his vk hes testing presure tomorrow we will see if they are getting old and tired after this many years

yeah it wouldn't surprise me, i always had a gauge in my rail to make sure it was not an issue :) just screwed it in where that valve is on the front.
