yeah there was some differences, you'll have to sit down with a wiring diagram and work it out and re-pin the plugs properly.

I have some wiring diagrams here: http://www.oldholdens.com/temp/carstuff ... s/VN%20V6/

the pre and post oct 1989 are the two you'll want I believe.

If the usb board isn't getting powered then you might have no power to the computer at all.

The USB power LED is powered via the laptop so will not turn on with the ECU.

The NVRAM LED (when the bin_sw jumper is on) is powered by the ECU 5V - so it will turn on when the ECU is on, and stay on for approx 2 seconds after key off.

Pin D16 is injector control. It will be 12V with key on if you have power to the injectors through the EFI relay.
Check pin C16 and B1 have 12V all the time
Check pin A6 has 12V when the ign key is on
Confirm grounds on pin A12, D1, D3 and D10

Another check is if the fuel pump primes with key on the ECU is powered and working.

thanks guys i ran a power wire to A6 the pink and the fuel pump fired up .. but sadly it didnt run ill check out the mentioned pin power supplys and see if that helps

once again thanks Guys

ok check wires as vl recommended all good .. gave her another crank and she splutters but wont run check leads on correct plugs .. double checked that i had fuel line right still just splutters i fitted the vn throtlel body as engine came without on is there a difference between them ?

heres a like to it spluttering as i have never seen this motor run .. im wondering if there another issue besides wiring as i seem to have everything now ign fuel spark ecu fired up ?

There are soooo many things that could be wrong.

Start with the basics, make sure the ECU is powering up, connect up the laptop and read all the sensors and fault codes. Make sure the MAP sensor reads ok, coolant sensor, manifold temp etc etc etc Crank it over and confirm your seeing RPM. All that sort of stuff.

Still wont start then chuck some start ya bastard or fuel down its guts and it will briefly run on the ign module even if the ECU is not running to fire injectors or control spark.

lol vl that not what i wanted to hear .. i have checked ecu nvram and it lights up as u said with ign on ... have spark and checked injector pulse im not sure about fuel pressure as i have no way to check it maybe dumping start ya bastard in to throttle body will help .. it plug laptop in tomorrow and see what comes up on it

thanks David

it definitely sounds like its getting at least some fuel from the video, so might be worth looking at the fuel system ..... also agree like VL400 says, try some carby cleaner or start ya bastard, if you get someone to key it over and spray the right amount in you can actually keep it running for a bit!

other than that its far to hard to say what it could be without some data logs or something.

I had some thing similar on an engine I bought and ended up the five out of six injectors had stuck shut.
Some sort of moisture from sitting around I guess or the last owner had water in the fuel

actually I meant to ask, when you say it never been running, is it a full rebuild or just stocker and it hasn't been running since coming out of the donor car ?
